Imagine a classroom full of people, movement & noise... Now imagine the tranquility of the woodland. Birds singing & trees rustling.

Helping pupils communication, independence, social skills and self-esteem.

Some children have a heightened sensitivity of anxiety, frustration, communicational problems and delayed development, and the woodland enables some independence which promotes self-esteem and a sense of accomplishment.

Manor House Forest School has created a safe learning environment where children can develop healthy interpersonal relationships and where learning outcomes can be measured by observing increased participation & increased ability, developing human relationships with peers, your teachers and our staff.

Children can experience a sense of connectedness...

Our beautiful 7 acre woodland site is surrounded by open pasture with a mixture of mature trees and newer growth and an abundance of wildlife. This instills a sense of calm and children’s mental health and wellbeing are improved.

The sensory nature of the woodland enables children with intellectual disabilities, autistic spectrum continuum, communication difficulties and emotional/ behavioural challenges, to relax and thrive in a familiar place without walls.

Together with your staff, we can develop a learning cycle...

We adapt activities for individuals and small groups using your awareness of children’s strengths and areas of practise development, using teachers knowledge of behaviour that challenges.
The animals on our farm (pigs, goats, chickens and ducks) are very popular with the children as they can be hands-on, safely, and learn about caring, feeding and grooming.

To achieve results with a positive and lasting impact, we recommend between 10 – 38 weeks of tailor made sessions of between 2 – 5 hours.

We recommend booking an initial assessment session to establish children’s needs. Sessions can be tailored to the curriculum, seasons, subjects & learning styles.
