Learn about tides, marine life and coastal erosion

Thanet has 15 sandy bays and beaches from Pegwell Bay in the south, to Minnis Bay in the north. Many have rock pools, some have tidal/ crabbing pools. Each location provides a great learning experience for all year groups

We provide the knowledge, experience, resources and  and session planning

We research the tidal forecast, location and risk assessments

Following the forest school ethos, we transfer our knowledge and skill set to the beach, using the coast as a platform for a different learning experience.

We can tailor sessions to the curriculum, seasons, learning styles and group requirements.

Positive changes take time; therefore, we recommend regular weekly sessions which help build regularity and consistency, allowing our qualified practitioners to build relationships and gain long term positive impacts on development, social skills, self-esteem, well-being and mental health.

Session length 2 - 4 hours

One off or weekly sessions (recommend a minimum of 6 weeks)

Engage in activities such as rock-pooling, strand-line walks, exploring marine flora & fauna, tools skills and creative beach art

Learn about risk and danger and biodiversity

Develop a better and sympathetic understanding of the coastal environment

Improve communication, social and physical skills by working in groups
